Advocacy director Anthony Hernandez dedicates new film to seamen

Michael de Mesa stars in a heartwarming film that tackles the struggles of Filipimo seamen, Marineros: Men in the Middle of the Sea. He plays Dennis Mirasol, who is almost 60-year old-&retired seaman & suffering blindness brought by an accideng in his work.




The movie will also star Ahron Villena, who plays Kent Mirasol, the eldest son of Dennis who took the responsibility of being the family's breadwinner when his father was disabled by his blindness. He is married to Nerissa Mirasol, played by Valerie Concepcion, a loving wife & mother. Claire Ruiz will play Karen Marisol, the only daughter of Dennis who fell in love with Vale Medina (Jon Lucas) and got pregnant at a young age.




The other cast members are Jef Gaitan, Anthony Hernandez, Paul Hernandez & Alvin Nakasi.


The film is directed by advocacy director Anthony Hernandez, who considers this film as a passion project. According to him, it depicts the reality, life of our fellow Filipino seamen. He dedicates the film to seamen & individuals with family member who has ventured in this line of profession. He believes this film also goes out to all Filipinos, for this film embodies true Filipino spirit & how love for family always triumphs amidst life's adversaries.

Shot in several majestic locations in Bohol and partially shot in a luxurious cruise ship in Hong Kong. It will be released in cinemas on September 20, 2019
