Jean Garcia's verstility showcases in Watch Me Kill

Surely not your typical Filipino movie! The videography fits perfectly on the storyline of the movie which was shot on a rural area.

Watch Me Kill follows the story of a cold blodded killer for hire played by  Ms. Jean Garcia (as Luciana) met a teenage girl  named Aurora played by Junyka Santarin who was held captive by one of her victims  and instead of killing Aurora, she shot her on the leg  takes her as her prisoner but along the movie the girl changed her narrative causing her to question her purpose.

I loved how the characters portrayed their roles especially Jean who indeed shows her versatility as an actress in this movie while Junyka's acting is still pure and so inncocent; surely perfect for her role.

The ending of the movie is mind twisting and will leave you shocking for a moment. Definitely worth watching once it premieres in cinemas on September 13 as one of the official entries to Pista Ng Pelikulang Pilipino 2019.

It's a G! for McCoy de Leon

Last September 10, 2019, I got the chance to watch the tropa movie G! starring McCoy De Leon, Jameson Blake, Paulo Angeles, Kira Balinger and Nick Parker with Lara Quigaman-Alcaraz, Roxanne Barcelo, Dominic Roque, Patrick Sugui, Moi Bien, Alora Sasam, Jao Mapa & Gia Alvarez with the special participations of Ms. Rosanna Roces & Mr. Joey Marquez.

The movie follows the story of Sam Corteza (McCoy), the handsome and popular MVP & Team Captain of their football team. Dom (Jameson), Bry (Paulo) & Wacks (Mark) are loyal friends. He has a girlfriend who is beautiful and alo popular like him, Menchie (Kira).

He has a good life til he was diagnosed with gallbladder cancer. When he found out that his days might be already numbered, he listed the 7 things he wanted to do before he dies – his bucketlist.

He went on a roadtrip (1st on his bucketlist) with his friends to do his bucketlist.

His 6th list is to have his first sex. While going to Baguio, they met Sandy (Roxanne) who has a special feeling for Sam.

Sandy found that Sam's days are already numbered and she agreed to have sex with him but unfortunately Sam was too drunk, and his first sex didn't happen.

Will Sam able to tickoff all the things on his bucketlist?

I was expecting a usual barkada movie but the film has exceeded my expectations. You might think that the film is for those young ones only but even if I'm not teen anymore, the film will make you feel that you're part of their clique, you're one of them. This is now my favourite movie of director Dondon Santos.

McCoy really shines in the movie. He made sure that you will be part of Sam's journey of fulfilling his bucketlist. He is brave enough to accept the role. He made happy with his G! as in great performance.

G! is not just a story of friendship, it will teach you lessons about life especially on giving importance to your family and loved ones while you still have time.

'Heneral Luna' Producers Bring Hollywood Sci-Fi Thriller 'Freaks' in the Philippines

Filipino moviegoers are in for a treat as they will be the first in Asia to experience the new Hollywood sci-fi thriller Freaks. This exciting and critically acclaimed film will be released in the Philippines on August 23 ahead of its premiere date in the United States (September 13).

In this award-winning thriller, a disturbed father played by Emile Hirsch locks his bold 7-year-old daughter (Lexy Kolker) in a house, warning her of grave dangers outside. But the mysterious Mr. Snowcone (Bruce Dern) convinces the girl to escape and join him on a quest for family, freedom, and revenge.

Freaks is a highly acclaimed film that is described by critics and viewers alike as a “genre-bending” feature that will appeal to fans of thrillers looking to be shocked and surprised in the theaters. It is also a treat for viewers who want to dissect their movies and TV shows like puzzles so they can solve the mystery before the film reveals its mind-boggling twist.

Freaks received a standing ovation during its premiere in the Toronto International Film Festival in 2018 and has garnered positive attention for its writer-director duo Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein. Inspired by Stein’s own experience as a new father, the filmmakers “wanted to explore a father’s unbounded love and desire to protect his child, coupled with a parent’s exhaustion, inadequacy, temper and guilt.”

“Parents sometimes shield children from the whole truth about the world. For a child who is different, the world can be a cruel place. In addition to a grounded father-daughter story, we aimed to make a film that reflected current stories of parents and children in a time of xenophobia and prejudice,” Lipovsky and Stein added.

Like its directors, critically acclaimed actor Emile Hirsch (who also stars in the upcoming Quentin Tarantino film Once Upon A Time in Hollywood) immediately connected with the film’s theme. “Freaks was a script that spoke to me as I read it, in a most intimate and personal way. Like my character, I’m also a father, and the dynamic between the father and daughter, and the deep bond and stresses that the script explored -- almost felt like it had been written for me, personally,” Hirsch shared.

Besides Hirsch and Dern, Freaks boasts of an impressive cast, which also includes Grace Park (TV’s Battlestar Galactica and Hawaii Five-0) and Amanda Crew (HBO’s Silicon Valley). The Hollywood Reporter praises the movie’s “tight-knit ensemble” and singles out young Kolker’s performance as the “feisty little girl determined to protect her family.” The film’s directors are all praises for Kolker, calling her “a true discovery, a charming girl who could stand her ground with veteran actors. When unleashed, Lexy was truly fierce, a powerful force that had no limits, just like her character Chloe.”

Kolker was chosen by Lipovsky and Stein after combing through 1,200 audition submissions. The young actress is best known for her work on the USA network action thriller, Shooter, playing the daughter of Ryan Phillippe for its 3 seasons and running. Most recently, Kolker filmed a multi-episode arc in the popular series Marvel’s “Agents of Shield”.

Freaks is Lipovsky and Stein’s debut feature length film, but already critics are praising the movie and hailing it as a “must-watch.” io9 declares that Freaks is a “wonderful, exciting film. Stein and Lipovsky stuff Freaks with limitless imagination, finding ways to execute their loftier ambitions. It’s a film filled with complex, robust ideas that not only have a unique twist to them but a realistic grounding that makes them more relatable and impactful.”

The movie will be released in the United States by WellGo USA.

“Freaks” is distributed locally by TBA Studios. It opens in Philippine theaters nationwide, starting Friday, August 23, 2019.

Andrea Brillantes & Khalil Ramos will meet the scary Little Girl in the horror movie 'The Ghosting'

Afternoon drama princess Andrea Brillantes and singer-actor Khalil Ramos are paired for the 1st time in Reality Entertainment's newest horror movie The Ghosting.

The Solante urban legend will come alive in The Ghosting. If Balete Drive has this infamous White Lady, Solante has this horrific little girl carrying a headless doll who asks passersby to help her get home. Little do they know that home is a mysterious red house visible only to her and her unassuming victims.

In the movie, Grace (Andrea) will become a missing person after meeting this little girl. Ken (Khalil) believes that the little girl has something to do with Grace's disappearance and weird death in his neighborhood but people around him don't believe in him.

How will they uncover the truth is one of the exciting parts of this movie which will be directed by Joey De Guzman, one of the promising directors of Reality Entertainment. Another exciting thing about this film, it's from the makers of critically-acclaimed horror hits such as Seklusyon (2016) and Kuwaresma (2019).

The film is slated to open in cinemas on August 28, 2019.

Marco Gumabao ni-request ang butt scene sa “Just A Stranger”

Anne Curtis & Marco Gumabao in a May-December affair movie 'Just A Stranger'

Written and directed by Jason Paul Laxamana (The Day After Valentine’s, 100 Tula Para Kay Stella), the story revolves around a married woman who gets into an affair with a man half her age despite her nagging conscience that one day they might pay for it.

Mae Pimentel (Anne Curtis) is in her mid-30s.  Though stricken with an illness called Fibromyalgia, Mae is not wanting in material things and can go on a leisure trip anywhere she wants.  Her husband Phil (Edu Manzano), a businessman, doesn’t seem to mind as he has very little time for her.    It is while vacationing in the flamboyant city of Lisbon, Portugal that this fashionable lady meets Jericho.

Jericho “Jekjek” Esguerra (Gumabao) is a 19-year-old son of a Philippine Ambassador.  He is oozing with sex appeal and charming personality, but lacking in maturity.  To help him have a sense of responsibility, his father tells him to find a job.  Jericho is not excited about working, but out of respect to his parents Rufi and Judy (Robert Seña and Isay Alvarez), he obeys their demands.  He has a girlfriend named Febbie (Jas Rodriguez), but meeting Mae makes his life more exciting.

The trailer already gives a hint of the numerous steamy scenes between Anne and Marco, but director Laxamana points out that the film was not created to romanticize illicit affair.  This drama will delve deeper into the personal stories of the characters to show their reasons behind their actions.  It is interesting to know if despite their liaison, Mae and Jericho can stick to this principle: “Not your friend.  Not your lover.  Just a stranger.”

It is said that the idea of doing a May-December affair love story has long been considered by Anne, but it is only now that the right material came along.  The award-winning actress has shown her versatility by doing action (Buy Bust)  and mystery thriller (Aurora), but it can’t be disregarded that her career prospered while doing romantic drama movies (Baler, In Your Eyes, No Other Woman, A Secret Affair).  After the box office hit Sid & Aya, it’s great that viewers will get to see Anne going back to her roots – the romance-drama genre.

“Just a Stranger”  opens in cinemas nationwide on August 21, 2019.  From VIVA Films.

Jane Oineza & Jerome Ponce on their alleged past relationship | Finding You

Jane Oineza finally breaks her silence regarding the alleged relationship that she and Jerome Ponce had in the past.

The two are now top-billing the Regal Entertainment, Inc., film Finding You.

“Masaya ako kasi nabigyan ulit kami ng opportunity na mag-work together bilang ang last nga namin ay Nasaan Ka Nang Kailangan Kita (NKNKK),” referring to the 2015 afteroon teleserye in ABS-CBN.

The young actress then shed light to claims that she and Jerome became an item.

“Hindi naman naging kami to begin with,” she clarified.

However, she revealed that she and Jerome developed a special relationship that is more than friends but less than lovers.

“I can't say kung nag-work or hindi kasi hindi pa namin na-try. Hindi umabot sa ganon.”

Jane then enumerated the good qualities she liked about her co-star in Finding You.

“Sweet naman siya as a person. Hindi ko lang maalala kung may ginawa siya for me noon. Pero as a person, sweet siya, maaalalahanin naman siya. Mabait.

“Tsaka gusto ko may humor. Kailangan mapapatawa mo 'ko, kailangan di ako ma-bored. Kailangan masaya lang.

“Yun yung mahalaga sa 'kin. Yung comfortable ako at ikaw. Ganon lang, walang pretensions.”

Though their connection did not lead to a relationship, Jane said that she and Jerome would bump into each other every now and then, since they are both artists of Star Magic.

“Hindi naman nawala yung friendship, yung communication. Hindi naman parang after NKNKK hindi na kami nag-usap at all,” she clarified.

Meanwhile, Jane is happy to be given substantial roles in movies.

Meantime, Jerome was more elusive when asked about the past that he and Jane had.

When asked about this issue, he reluctantly answered, “Wala naman yata kaming... We're friends, yung lang."

Nevertheless, Jerome confirmed that he and Jane never lost their friendship.

“Nanatili kaming magkaibigan kasi madalas naman kaming nagkikita dahil pag nagkikita kami nagkukwentuhan nang matagal, tapos nagkakayayaan lumabas with other friends.”

What is sure is that the actor got excited upon knowing that he would work again with Jane in an acting project.

“Sobrang nakaka-excite and pressured kasi the last time we worked, siya ang nagdala lahat ng eksena don sa teleserye namin. Parang na-excite na rin as well dahil nakikita ko na as matured [actors] na [kami].”

Meantime, Jerome does not mind being tagged as an underrated actor.

“As of now, kung underrated man ako, I'm really happy what I have now. Masaya na 'ko.

“Siguro kung bibigyan man ako ng ibang projects, siguro mas magiging thankful ako.

“Okay na 'ko. Wala naman ako kailangan i-react. Bakit pa ako magiging masama ang loob? I'm really, really thankful kung anuman meron ako ever since.

FINDING YOU, the big idea

What if someone who can vividly remember everything forgets a specific painful moment that keeps on curiously bothering him?

Rich with poignant hugot lines and a relatable story, Finding You tells of a person's search for “the one” - not knowing it won’t turn out the way he expects it to be.

Social media journalist NEL (Jerome Ponce) has a rare condition called “hyperthymesia”. The opposite of amnesia, he remembers every detail of every moment he has encountered.

As much it’s a blessing, this condition serves as a curse for Nel when it comes to matters of the heart. Coming from series of failed relationships, he never forgets all the painful experience he had.

Good thing, his bride-to-be best friend KIT (Jane Oineza) is always there by his side through thick and thin.
Despite having exceptional memory, Nel is suddenly bombarded by vague memories that seem to curiously bring back an obscure pain - triggered by accidentally activating a mobile application called “Throwback”. His old statuses starting with “Dear You” prompt him to get to the bottom of it and be clarified with that one memory.

Will Nel realize that the one he needs to look for is just right beside him… before it’s too late?

Finding You is a play on memories - or the lack of it - and how they affect the life even of the most stern.
Finding You is by Regal Entertainment, Inc., which also stars Barbie Imperial with Claire Ruiz, Kate Alejandro, Jon Lucas, Paeng Sudayan.
Directed by Easy Ferrer, Finding You opens in cinemas in May 29.

Arjo Atayde's first leading man role in a romantic film

"First time for me to play a leading man in a romantic comedy and I’m praying the public will like our movie," sabi ni Arjo

The film Stranded is directed by Ice Idanan, ang direktor ng 2017 movie na Sakaling Hindi Makarating.

Movie Review: Sylvia Sanchez shines in 'Jesusa'

READ: Sylvia Sanchez is Jesusa

She gave her own flavour of a drug addict role. Yung mata niya makapangyarihan, her eyes communicate with her audience lalo na sa eksenang tinitikman sya ng mga kapwa niyang addict. Iba! Walang linya, mata lang umaarte, pero you see her pain & life story through her eyes. I won't be surprised if she gets acting awards.

You can watch Sinag Maynila 2019 movies in select cinemas from April 4 - 17, 2019. For screening schedules of Jesusa, just click here!

Liza Soberano says goodbye to DARNA; Netizens want Nadine Lustre to play the Filipina superheroine

An emotional Liza Soberano made a shocking announcement on TV Patrol tonight. She revealed that she will no longer be playing the most iconic Filipina superheroine - DARNA due to medical reasons.

Just minutes after her announcement, ABS-CBN and Star Cinema released a statement which you can read below:

ABS-CBN and Star Cinema regretfully announce their acceptance of Liza Soberano’s decision to withdraw from the “Darna” movie project due to medical reasons.

Liza suffered a finger bone fracture while doing a fight scene on the set of “Bagani” last year. She is still undergoing treatment and recovering from the trauma.  Unfortunately, after consultation with her doctors, it was deemed best for Liza not to pursue the project as the injury shall hamper her from effectively doing the movie stunts required.

ABS-CBN and Star Cinema understand Liza’s condition, respect her decision, and wish her well on her recovery.

Meanwhile, the preparation for the “Darna” movie continues as ABS-CBN and Star Cinema remain fully committed in telling the well-loved story of the Filipina superheroine and have started the selection process for the new actress who will bring the iconic character to life on the big screen.

Now that Liza is out, the big question is: Who is going to play DARNA? Me: Nadine Lustre, who got is the top choice of the netizens to play Darna, or give it back to Angel Locsin or a newbie like Gillian Vicencio who plays Eri in the hit international horro thriller EERIE which is still playing in cinemas across Asia.

DARNA is to be directed by Heneral Luna director Jerrold Tarog & is rumoured to release next year and hopefully as an official entry to MMFF 2020.

Arjo Atayde: Certified Comedy & Romantic Star

All my life, I’ve always dreamt of being a comedian! To be honest, di ko alam kung paano ako napunta sa drama at action 😂 Don’t get me wrong, I’m thankful, grateful, and blessed to have had the opportunity to do such roles.

I'm sure after this film, mas magbubukas ang maraming pinto para kay Arjo as a heartthrob & leading man.

Ezra Miller Channeling Hedwig at the UK Premiere of 'Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald'

OMGooooosh!!! My flashy flashy crush EZRA MILLER is unstoppble from wearing head-turning premiere night outfits.

The 26-year old cutie actor inks the killing spell AVADA KEDAVRA onto his palms while looking so pristine in white feathered Givenchy Haute Couture (FW18) ensemble at the UK Premiere of the latest movie from JK Rowling's Wizarding World, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald last Tuesday night (London Time).

He even added some prints of the words "Dumbledore Army" and "still recruiting" on his lovely white boots. He did the same thing on his black boots during the New York junket of the first movie 2 years ago.

Many Potterheads think that he was channeling Harry Potter's extremely loyal snowy owl pet Hedwig at the blue carpet premiere.

Ezra makes a return as the enigmatic Credence, whose fate was unknown at the end of the first Fantasic Beasts film.

FANTASTIC BEASTS: THE CRIMES OF GRINDELWALD is slated to open in Philippine cinemas starting TOMORROW. Experience it in IMAX.

Direk Cathy masaya na kasama si Ria Atayde sa "The Hows Of Us"

During the press con of the movie, kinilig si Ria sa nasabi ni Direk Cathy Garcia-Molina tungkol sa kaya.

“I’m so happy, even if nung nag-eedit ako, I’m so happy that it was Ria. She really gave life to the role.”

Ang "The Hows Of Us" ang second movie ni Ria after "Can We Still Be Friends?" last year at susundan agad ito ng "The Girl In The Orange Dress" na kalahok sa 2018 Metro Manila Film Festival sa darating na Pasko.

Good job, girl!

Arjo Atayde is a great villain in Buy Bust

Kapamilya star Arjo Atayde is one of the stars to watch out for in the upcoming action film Buy Bust, though we don't see him in the teaser & theatrical trailers.

According to Asian Movie Pulse, Arjo as Biggie Chen "is a great villain, with his monologue during the end being one of the highlights of the movie."

There is no doubt, Arjo, is one of the best actors of our generation who took acting workshop under Ivana Chubbuck.

BUY BUST will open in Philippines cinemas on August 1.
